01 Overview

Direct Eggs is a farm-to-consumer marketplace that connects households, restaurants, retailers, and wholesalers with trusted egg suppliers across multiple states. The platform makes it easy to discover suppliers, place orders, track deliveries, and receive fresh eggs with confidence.

Although the platform already existed, several key user journeys had become difficult to navigate. My role was to redesign the mobile experiences by simplifying product discovery, improving trust throughout the purchasing journey, and making ordering and delivery tracking more intuitive without disrupting the platform's existing functionality.

02 Impact
  • Simplified supplier discovery across multiple regions.
  • Improved trust through clearer product and supplier information.
  • Created a more transparent delivery experience through real-time tracking.

Finding trusted suppliers should feel effortless.

Users needed a faster and more intuitive way to discover trusted suppliers, compare products, and understand availability across different locations.

The browsing experience was reorganized with clearer categories, improved filtering, and a stronger information hierarchy, making it easier to discover verified suppliers and fresh products regardless of location.

Freshness starts with trust.

Buying food online requires confidence. Users needed reassurance that products were fresh, suppliers were reliable, and pricing was transparent before making a purchase.

Delivery should never feel uncertain.

Once an order is placed, users want confidence that it will arrive in optimal state.

The delivery experience introduced clearer order statuses, real-time tracking, estimated arrival times, and delivery notifications, keeping users informed from checkout to doorstep.

What worked well

Simplifying the purchasing journey made supplier discovery, product evaluation, and ordering feel more intuitive while preserving familiarity for existing users.

Biggest challenge

Balancing the needs of individual customers and commercial buyers required creating an experience that remained simple for first-time users while supporting larger and more complex orders.

Looking ahead

Future iterations would explore subscription-based deliveries, personalized supplier recommendations, recurring orders, and smarter logistics to create an even more seamless farm-to-consumer experience.

Fresh food is built on trust. People aren't just buying eggs — they're trusting that what arrives at their doorstep is fresh, safely handled, and exactly what they expected. Every design decision was guided by making that trust visible throughout the experience.
